Cadbury High Tea Party

I recently hosted a Cadbury Tea Party sponsored by Mommy Parties and when I told my 4 year old daughter we were having a princess tea party she was beyond thrilled! We invited a few mommies and princess's over from some tea and sandwiches followed by a delicious dessert. I was also very excited because Mommy Parties had provide an adorable little tea set and fashion hats for the girls.

Her is my princess waiting for our guest to arrive

Once the girls were done with their lunch and tea we had some Cadbury ice cream bars and everyone enjoyed them. I had tried all of the flavors available but my favorite was the chocolate almond. The ice cream bars had creamy milk chocolate outer shells and smooth creamy vanilla or chocolate inside. I was very impressed with the taste and texture of the Cadbury ice cream bars. They also come in snack sizes which is perfect for little one's.

Embarrassing Beauty Disasters Solved: Part Dos

This post is sponsored by Dove® ClearTone™ Deodorant - designed to visibly reduce underarm dark marks and even skin tone.

I had recently wrote two post about Daring to Bare your skin and Embarrassing Beauty Disasters Solved. Here are a few more tips to help you bare your skin and correct some beauty mistakes.

  • No need to condition your roots
Conditioning your roots can weigh down your hair and make it look greasy. The hair closest to your roots are healthy and new and conditioning it is unnecessary. Apply conditioner starting at your ears and work your way down. You'll notice more volume and your hair won't look greasy if you skip a wash.

  • Moisturizer and foundation
Moisturizer can cause founation to thin out. This can make it look blotchy and limit the amount of coverage your foundation can offer throughout the day. Wait about a minute, until the moisturizer is absorbed and dry, then apply foundation.

  • Apply perfume to your skin
Perfume can stain fabric, and fabric fibers can make perfume smell unpleasant. Fragrance is designed to be applied directly to the skin, where it interacts with your body heat. Dab or spray it onto your skin on your "pulse points"―knees, wrists, base of the throat, and behind the earlobes.

  • Dry skin on your upper arms
You can solve this issue by washing with a mild or moisturizing soap like Dove moisturizing bar and apply a moisturizer to your skin when your skin is still damp. You can also use a gentle body scrub and a moisturizer containing Glycolic or Lactic acid.

  • Static-y hair
If you often have static filled hair and look like you got into a fight with a ballon or two, you may want to carry a dryer sheet with you. You can run the dryer sheet through you hair to help combat static. No dryer sheet? No problem. Rub some lotion on your palms and run your hands through your hair. Be careful and don't over do it otherwise you'll just end up with oily hair.

I hope this helps with any beauty blunders you may encounter when trying to look your best.
Don't forget it enjoy your beauty.

Zoes Kitchen Now Open in San Antonio

San Antonio now has a Zoes Kitchen located in the Lincoln Heights. I had told a few friends of mine about the opening and heard nothing but positive things and that they all loved it. When it comes to food I can be a picky eater but since meeting my fiancée 5 years ago he has taught to just give new foods a try. I was excited to try Zoes Kitchen but I will admit, I was a little nervous about trying something new. After having lunch there I'm glad they're here in San Antonio because I loved every bite! Everything was great and the staff were very friendly and inviting.

For lunch I started off with pita bread and humus, some of the best I've tried. I then had their Chicken and Orzo soup which was very tasty and something I know my little picky eater will enjoy as well. For my main entree I had the Steak Kabobs and wow! The Steak Kabobs were awesome, they were very tender, juicy and full of flavor. I looked down at my table just before I had started to eat, thinking "This is a lot of food, I'm not going to be able to eat all of this." but I did. I just couldn't stop it was that delicious.

Zoes Kitchen makes everything fresh everyday and use the freshest and finest ingredients. They also provide take home tubs that make it easy to whip up a great and healthy dinner by adding ingredients you have at home. You can also take home one of their dinners for 4. I took home of their Chicken Kabobs dinners for 4 for my family which included eight chicken kabobs, rice pilaf, greek salad, and pita bread. Big hit with the family.

Embarrassing Beauty Disasters Solved

This post is sponsored by Dove® ClearTone™ Deodorant - designed to visibly reduce underarm dark marks and even skin tone.

We all want to look our best everyday of the year especially during the summer. Time for all those outdoor activities, events, BBQ dinners with friends and families, wedding's, or just a day at the beach. Since we will be showing of a bit more of ourselves during these warm days we like to take steps in looking our best but sometimes those steps go wrong, very wrong. Here are a few solutions that may be able to help with those disasters.

  •  Self Tanner
Applied a little to much self tanner and now your looking like Snooki's twin? Try ex-foliating the problem area with a damp loofah or scrub. You can also soak in a warm bath to help open up your pores then rub a lemon on the problem areas. In a hurry? Try using a bronzer to even things out.

  • Greasy Hair?
Try using a dry shampoo. Just spay some onto your roots and massage it in. If you don't have time to shower then most likely your a mom with much to do and you may have baby powder laying around. Spinkle same baby powder onto your roots and work it. Combing it back into a sleek ponytail always works, that's my go to solution.

  • Razor burn.
Showing off some skin this summer? Avoid razor burn with these tips.
  1. Ex-foliate your skin.
  2. Wash area with warm water to help soften skin and open up pores.
  3. Use new, sharp razor blades.
  4. Shave with the grain.
  5. Apply moisturizing lotion afterward to keep skin soft.

  • Arm pit stains
It's summer and with this heat wave we all expected to sweat while out in sun partaking in our fun summer activies and events.  Try preventing this problem before it happens with applying deodorant like Dove® ClearTone™ Deodorant the night before,  it will give it time to soak into your skin. When you shower in the morning use a anti-bacterial body wash with a gentle body scrub to get rid of dead skin cells. Apply deodorant again in the morning to dy skin so it can fully absorb. Wear breathable fabrics and light colors.

  • Dry Skin
Nobody likes dry skin so keep skin soft and moisturize by ex-foliating skin in the shower and using a moisturizing soap like Dove moisturizing soap bar. Apply a moisturizing lotion after showing. My favorite moisturizer is coconut oil. The quicker you apply a moisturizer after a shower the better.

  • Hair Color Mishap
I've had this happen before and it was a disaster! If you make this mistake while coloring your own hair you can try to wash it out with clarifying shampoo or dish soap. This must be done quickly before the color fully settles into your hair. Also keep in mind that when coloring your own hair at home, you should never go more than two shades lighter or darker than your current hair color.

  • Sun Burnt Skin
No one likes looking like a tomato! Prevent it before it becomes an issue by using sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! Use Aloe vera or a cool compress on your sunburn for some relief. Drink lots of water to keep hydrated.

I hope this helps with any beauty blunders you may encounter when trying to look your best.
Don't forget it enjoy your beauty.

Dare to Bare

This post is sponsored by Dove® ClearTone™ Deodorant - designed to visibly reduce underarm dark marks and even skin tone.

Do you dare to bare? I do, all the time. Not like I have much of a choice living in San Antonio with the heat and humidity. During the hot and humid days I try to keep things very simple, very.... simple.

Here are a few tips to help you bare it
  •  Wear short sleeved tops and show off those legs. Don't forget to moisturize to help your skin looking healthy and apply a clear deodorant.
  • Ditch the foundation. Who wants to cake their face with make-up on a hot day? Dare to go bare and don't forget the sunscreen!
  • Give your self a pedicure and show of those toes and feet in a pair of cute sandals.

Dove Clear Tone can help visibly reduces dark marks and evens tone with regular use over time, plus 24-hour odor & wetness protection.
I go make-up less all the time and I get complimented on my skin all the time and women are always asking what my "secret" is or what my regiment is. My answer for that is very simple because my regiment is very simple, I do nothing. Yup, nothing! I always get very confused looks when I give them my answer. I don't wear make-up especially foundation. When I do wear make-up it's very minimal, I stick to eyeshadow, eye liner and mascara. I also do not use any harsh soaps or cleansers on my face. If I have to wash my face because it's dirty do to sweat or make-up I use a warm wash cloth with a bar of Dove soap. Most importantly, I use a gentle moisturizer everyday. It keeps my skin healthy and looking great.

Will you be going bare this summer?

Oreo Cookie MilkShake Recipe

Do you love those Oreo cookie shakes that you can get at a fast food chains or restaurants? I do! But they can be pricey to get everyone in the family one. Making your own can cost you a fraction of the cost and calories! Those milkshakes at restaurants are also loaded with thousands of calories. I know one restaurant in particular that has about 2,000- 3,000 calories per milkshake!

Here is a delicious and super easy Oreo Cookie Milkshake recipe.

Funbites Make Eating Fun

Do you have a picky eater like I do? or maybe you just like to have fun with food? For me, it's both. One of my 4 year old daughters favorite foods is sandwiches and we have several different sandwiches cutters that we use and with her, EVERY sandwich has to be cut into a shape. Funbites can help you make food fun. They offer two selections Cube it and Luv it. We got to try the Luv it cutter and she loved it, not only did I use it on sandwiches but I also used it on a few chicken patties to make heart shaped chicken nuggets. I thought the little bite size heart pieces were adorable. I also have a 12 month old that isn't a picky eater at all, he'll eat anything but I still used the Luv it cutter for his sandwiches to make little mini bite size sandwiches for him.

Here's Maddox with his bite size sandwich pieces

Funbites are made in the USA, BPA free and can be hand washed or is top-shelf dishwasher safe. You can visit the Funbites website to learn more and to purchase one for yourself.

Teething Bling Review

Have a teething baby? Love wearing jewelry? Than Teething Bling from Smart Mommy Jewelry is just for you! They offer a wide range of beautiful colors and I'm sure you'll be able to find one you'll love.

My 12 month old son recently began teething, a late bloomer compared to my daughter. My daughter had 2 teeth by 4 months and most of them soon after turning 1. My son had his first tooth pop out at 8 months and the second one shortly after. I was starting to think that my son was never going to have teeth! I've noticed that he's seems to have a harder time with teething than my daughter did. We had bought her numerous teething toys which she never used. So with all the discomfort his teeth have been giving him, I've been on the look out for anything that may provide him some relief.

I was excited when I came across Teething Bling. I loved all the beautiful color options they had to select from. They're made made of a soft rubbery material that is non-toxic, phthalate, BPA, PVC, latex and lead free. The first day I wore it my son instantly grabbed it and started to chew on it. He seems to enjoy it and helps him relax while I'm trying to get him ready for a nap or bed. We are currently working on getting rid of the pacifier and this has been a big help. And best of all it's keeps him away from playing and pulling my hair.

If you have a teething or soon to be teething baby I do recommend Teething Bling. You can visit the Smart Mommy Jewlery website to learn more and purchase Teething Bling for yourself.
