Lay-N-Go

Clean up toys in seconds

Lay-N-Go is an activity mat, carry all and storage solution all in one. Lay-N-Go makes cleaning up quick and easy. With Lay-n-Go your kids can dumb out all their toys on to the floor and easily clean up the mess within seconds. The bag can be used as a storage to house toys especially useful for little objects such as legos and blocks. Emma lee has a lot of little play dolls and accessories and it's great for that as well. Comes with a seat belt strap for carrying and makes it easy to take with you for traveling to grandma's house for the day, an out of town trip or a playdate at the park.

Easily clean up toys

Maddox likes to grab his box of blocks and dump them out on to the floor making a big mess.  The mess in the picture above is nothing compared to the mess they usually make, we had family visiting from out of town so I was trying to keep their room clean... usually there's a huge mess with their toys and blocks everywhere. Of course my 4 year old is not a fan of cleaning up her mess or helping her little brother with his mess.

For toys

The Large Lay-n-Go unfolds into an activity mat 5 feet in diameter. There are 4 mesh pockets on the inside of the mat that provide organized storage for any special pieces. The kids had plenty of play space on the mat.

toys

Emma lee didn't mind cleaning up with the Lay-n-Go. She was excited to for the first time ....ever.  Once they're done playing , you pull the drawstrings and the playmat transforms in a soft bag for easy carrying and storage. Very simple and clean up time takes just seconds.

Easily clean up toys

The seat belt strap on the outside of the bag makes it easy to carry for travel or to hang for storage. The nylon cord and cord lock provide an easy opening and closing system which keeps toys securely inside. Front Velcro pocket provides storage for the loose cord.

Lay-n-Go comes in 3 sizes and 5 color options, The large Lay-n-Go (5'), Lay-n-Go Lite (18") and the Lay-n-Go Cosmo (18")

Kidzikoo - Stylish Insulators

Bottle and sippiy cup insulator

Kidzikoo's are bottle and sippy cup insulators for your children's drinks. They keep your warm drinks warm and cold drinks cold. They also soak up condensation which is awesome because I had issues in the past with the things in my diaper bag or bag getting wet from all the condensation dripping from a cold sippy cup. Kidzikoo was invented by Lindsay, a mom of a little one who saw the need for sippy cup insulators to help her son's hands from getting to cold when he would drink from his sippy cup.

Kidzikoo come in very cute styles and colors and are machine washable. We love our Kidzikoo's, Emma lee likes to use hers with all sippy cups. I think they are so cute and very useful. They fit most of our sippy cups too! They stretch around bottles and sippy cups to provide a snug fit.

cup and bottle insulators for kids

Kidzikoo recently launched their line of Koverz, cute insulators for adults! I love my new Koverz in the Chevron print. I've always had issues with my cold water bottle leaving a messy condensation mess on my counters. They stretch to fit most plastic, aluminum, stainless steel and polycarbonate sport bottles. Just like Kidzikoo's, you can throw them into the washer and not worry about the fabric fading.

A Royal Disney Princess Afternoon

A few weeks ago I had sent her to go clean her room and after a few minutes I went to go check on her and I found her dressed as Snow White (her favorite) and staring out the window listening to her Disney Princess CD. I loved it! I loved everything about it. I stood there for a few minutes watching her and wondering what she was thinking. It all seemed so peaceful and romantic in it's own special way. So innocent and magical, It all took me back to when I was a little girl.

I bet it's hard not to find a little girl who loves princesses especially the Disney Princesses. Girls fall in love with the magic and romance of it all, I know I did. Every girl, big and small wants to be a princess and that's why every year for Halloween. Emma lee every year for Halloween has dressed up as one of the Disney Princess and she wear's the outfit's through out the year. I remember one year I went as Bell from Beauty And The Best. There is a Disney Princess out there for every girl. They are all so different and unique in their own way and have had to overcome some sort of obstacle to be were they belong.

Last week Emma lee and I went shopping for Disney Princess toys and came home with two castle's (because no princess has just one) and a horse drawn carriage... you know to get from one castle to the other. She was so excited to get home and play with her new toys but first we filled up a large trash bag with toys she has out grown or no longer cares for to donate. Included were a few Disney Princess outfits and hopefully another little girl can dress up like a princess and imagine the magic. The Little People Disney Princess Castle was a must have for us because we love all of our little people toys. She's had them for years and still loves playing with them so they were a great addition to her collection.

It was so adorable to sit and watch her play. She gave those little dolls personality. She sat their for a long while playing and imagining. She had fun dressing them up, feeding them, giving them friends with other Disney princess toys she has. I love how this castle folds up and looks like a castle and opens up to play inside. She truly enjoys playing with both her castles and the carriage.

She loves how the carriage turns into a pumpkin and thought it was funny. Before playing with the toy's it hadn't occurred to me that she has not seen Cinderella yet! So her great grandma who was in town for the Holiday bought it for her.We watched Cinderella together and she loved it and has watched it about 4 times in the last 2 days she's had it. She's asked for The Little Mermaid and I was able to get one online and I can not wait to surprise her with it! It's my favorite Disney Princess movie and I haven't seen it in years.

I look forward to many more afternoons like today with my princess, Emma lee.

Pinypon Party!

I've never heard of Pinypon before a few weeks ago and now they are one of Emma lee's favorite toy's. We invited some of her friends over for a little Pinypon Party and they all loved Pinypon too. They played with the dolls the enitre 2 hours of the party and Emma lee continued to play with them the rest of the day. Pinypon are cute little dolls that you can mix and match with other Pinypon dolls. Their hair, heads and bodies are removable and allow you to get creative and create your unique pinypon.

The girls were very excited to play with the new toys. We received the Pinypon Caravan and a few Pinypon dolls. The Caravan unfolds into a little living area with a little tub that can be used as a little pool or jacuzzi and a kitchen area, and the lid of the caravan turns into a little boat. Once they are done playing with the toy, it all fold's nicely into a caravan where you can store the dolls and accessories.

Emma lee has played with her caravan and dolls since the party over a week ago. She loves to mix and match the dolls. I love how small it is but unfolds much entertainment and then can all be packed up, perfect for traveling or if you need to take a toy somewhere to keep your little one busy. Pinypon is fun for girls aged 4-10. They offer many cute sets and dolls to choose from.

We were sent an extra Pinypon Caravan to give to one of our lucky guest and several Pinypon dolls to hand out to the girls. The girls loved it and from what I've heard the other caravan is played with non-stop.

You can visit Pinypon.com to learn more or to print out coupons. Pinypon is sold at Toys r Us and Amazon.com

Quick, Easy & Healthy Meal's with Tyson Chicken

I'm always looking for quick, easy and healthy meal's for my family. I really don't know how to cook too many dishes so I aim for the simple route when it comes to preparing meals. I try to keep things healthy but sometimes when you don't make things from scratch, meals don't always turn out so healthy. I've recently discovered Tyson's chicken, the ready made kind. We buy bags of the ready grilled and pair them up with veggies or other simple to make side dishes like mac & cheese or rice. Today we tried a different kind of Tyson's chicken, I bought the New Tyson Crispier Breaded Chicken Filets.

In my opinion Tyson's fully cooked chicken options are very simple to use for all sorts of meals. It could be paired with a large variety of sides, chopped up and thrown on top of some salad or can be used to make a delicious chicken sandwich. Tonight for dinner I will be paring up the chicken with a few easy side dishes.

For dinner tonight I will pairing Tyson Chicken Breast Filets with a bag of steamed potatoes and veggies, steamed brown rice and corn bread. I had a large list of possible side dishes that were quick and easy. There are many flavors and varieties of frozen vegetable's, mac & cheese, canned corn or peas, mashed potatoes and so much more.

The corn bread took 30 minutes to bake so I started on that first. Once the corn bread was out of the oven I started on the rice and chicken. I placed the chicken on a baking sheet and put it in the oven for 20 minutes and the rice in my rice cooker which took about 20 minutes as well. The last thing to prepare was the steamed vegestable, I placed the steam bag in the microwave for 7 minutes.

Total time was about 20 minutes for the main course not including the time it took to bake the corn bread. I paid $11.45 for everything and could feed 4-5 people. That's a little under $3 a person!

Cost
Tyson Chicken - $6.89
Brown rice - $0.68
Steamed Veggies - $2.38
Corn bread - $1.50
Total cost - $11.45
Cost per person - $2.86

Calories per serving
Tyson Chicken - 280
Brown rice - 150
Steamed Veggies - 80
Corn bread - 150
Total calories per plate - 660

Compare the cost and calories to grabbing something at the drive-thru and you will see the huge difference in cost and calories you'll be saving.

Visit a local Walmart to view one of their Tyson Chicken Demo's for more idea's on easy meal solutions.

Name Bubbles ... For Names That Stick

Name Bubbles are cute and creative labels to place on your child's items to avoid getting lost. Name Bubble offers customized labels in many different bright colors and fun styles. They're also waterproof which makes them dishwasher safe and laundry safe. I chose the pink/purple color combo with the crossbones preschool pack and love it!

Emma lee started preschool recently and I've had to put her name on everything she takes to school that belongs to her. She has several lunch bags and lunch containers that we use weekly, the girl likes variety. Not only do I need to keep track of her lunch items but anything else she takes to school like a coat, sweater, hat or gloves. Everyday before she gets on the bus and I give her a kiss good bye I remind her not to lose her bag, hat, coat or whatever it may be that day and the first question I ask when she gets of the bus is where is your hat, jacket... etc. So I was very interested in putting labels on everything she may have to take to school and I'm in love with her new labels, they're not only cute but they serve a great purpose.... saving money. By putting labels on her items I can avoid them getting lost and not being returned to her.

Name Bubble labels come in different sizes and shapes. Since they are dishwasher and laundry safe no need to worry about having to replace them after every wash. They even make labels with little feet to go inside of shoes.

They offer several different packs like the daycare, camp and luggage pack and more. You can also select to purchase one type of label such as the clothing, bottle or shoe labels.  Allergy labels are also available. So if you're looking for fun, creative and durable labels that will stay put during the dishwasher and laundry and help save money by avoiding lost items ... then check out Name Bubbles!

The shoes allow you to change the top half of your shoes by simply zipping and unzipping them, creating several different looks with just one pair of shoes. They look similar to Converse and Vans but ZipZ shoes are very unique in their own way so don't get them confused.

pink zip up shoes

Emma lee was excited about her new pinky sparkly shoes. She thinks they're so cool because she can unzip them. They were comfortable for her to wear, they have extra cushioned insoles. When she walked I heard no squeaking coming from her shoes because of their specially designed outsole. We hope to get her more covers so that she can mix and match her shoes. She loves shoes and I think this is a great way of giving her the colors and styles she wants with out having to pay for several pairs of shoes.

World Prematurity Day And RSV Awarness

In the United States, 1 out of 8 babies are born prematurely and Worldwide, 15 million babies are born too early each year. November 17th is World Prematurity Day, A day to honor the more than 1 million babies who died worldwide this year because they were born too soon and the 14 million who struggle to survive.  World Prematurity Day also help raise awareness about premature births. Even with the large preemie births every year many parents are unaware of prematurity - the leading cause of neonatal death.

When a baby is born to soon, their critical organs such as their lungs and immune system do not have enough time to fully develop. These babies face serious medical complications and can spend weeks or months in the NICU. Because their immune systems and lungs are not fully developed, preemies have a greater chance at developing infections and respiratory issues.

RSV is contracted by nearly all children by the age of two, often causing relatively minor symptoms that mimic the common cold. However, preemies are most at risk for developing much more serious symptoms, including a serious respiratory infection (severe RSV disease) from the virus, because their lungs are underdeveloped and they don’t have the antibodies needed to fight off infection. Below are a few quick facts about RSV that every parent should know.

RSV Quick Facts
  • RSV is the leading cause of infant hospitalization, and severe RSV disease causes up to 10 times as many infant deaths each year as the flu.
  • RSV is most prevalent during the winter months. The CDC has defined the “RSV season” as
beginning in November and lasting through March for most parts of North America.
  • In addition to prematurity, common risk factors include low birth weight, certain lung or heart
  • diseases, a family history of asthma and frequent contact with other children.
Prematurity and RSV in the U.S. Hispanic Community
  • The current rate of preterm births in the U.S. Hispanic community is 11.66 percent. Since 2006, the preterm rate has declined 5 percent for Hispanic infants.
  • Data indicate that infants from U.S. Hispanic communities are at increased risk to develop
severe RSV disease; while the exact reason for the increased risk is unknown, the increased prematurity rate is likely a contributing factor.
  • Two-thirds of U.S. Hispanic mothers have never heard of RSV, and one in five U.S. Hispanic
  • moms only becomes aware of RSV once their child has contracted the virus.
Prevention is Key
RSV is very contagious and can be spread easily through touching, sneezing and coughing. Since there’s no treatment for RSV, parents should take the following preventive steps to help protect their child:
  • Wash hands, toys, bedding, and play areas frequently
  • Ensure you, your family, and any visitors in your home wash their hands or use hand sanitizer
  • Avoid large crowds and people who are or have been sick
  • Never let anyone smoke near your baby
  • Speak with your child’s doctor if he or she may be at high risk for RSV, as a preventive therapy
  • may be available
Know the Symptoms
Contact your child’s pediatrician immediately if your child exhibits one or more of the following:
  • Severe coughing, wheezing or rapid gasping breaths
  • Blue color on the lips, mouth, or under the fingernails
  • High fever and extreme fatigue
I'm the mommy of a preemie and a baby affected by RSV.  Experiencing those two situations were the scariest experiences of my life. I'm glad to say that I have two very happy and healthy babies today but I wish I would had known more at the time.

Emma lee was born at 36 weeks old, weighing 5 pounds and 15 ounces. her breathing sounded odd the first day and it turned out that she had some amino fluid in her lungs, something common in most c-section babies. She had to spend 12 hours in the NICU for motoring. I felt so sick to my stomach when they told me she had to be admitted in NICU. I was hard to see her hooked up to the machines. After 12 hours she was out and I was so relieved that she was doing well and had no complications with being born prematurely, we were very lucky.

Unlike Emma lee, my son Maddox was born at 38 weeks. He was about 3-4 months when he caught an RSV infection. It was so scary to hear him cough. His cough would sometimes be so bad that it seemed like he struggled for air at times. I had many sleepless nights during that time but I was lucky that it was not as bad as when my niece had RSV. My niece was a full term baby and around 8 months old she caught RSV and needed to be hospitalized and required breathing treatments at home for a few weeks.

Disney Princess Shopping with My Princess

I grew up with Disney and fell in love with all the Disney princess's as a little girl and still love them. The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney Princess movie, I was about 5 or 6 when I received that movie on VHS and would watch it over and over everyday. Growing up in Los Angeles only a 30 minute drive from Disneyland and 15 minutes away from Disney Studios in Burbank, California made it hard not too love everything Disney. I'm happy that I get to share my love for Disney and their princesses with my daughter, Emma lee. Sometimes I'm not sure who loves them more, her or I.

Emma lee and I recently went on a little shopping spree for Disney Princess items at Walmart. Before heading out on our shopping trip we downloaded the new Disney Princess Royal Ball Reality App on my iPhone. Emma lee had a fun time creating a princess outfit, decorating a carriage and attending a royal ball.

You can download the app by searching for 'Disney Princess Royal Ball' in the Apple or Google play app store. Once downloaded, your daughter will be able to pick out a dress, shoes and crown to piece together an outfit, next she'll create her own carriage to take her to the royal ball. Once at the royal ball she'll have her first royal dance. Your daughter will be able to take photo's of herself in her creations along the way.

The more Emma lee played the more items she was unable to unlock. You can visit your local Walmart stores to unlock more interactive games and content by scanning the Disney Princess logo, Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother images on select Disney princess in-store displays.

We walked into Walmart and could see that thy are very much prepared for the Holiday's. As we turned into the Disney Princess aisle we noticed all of the pretty Disney toys and Emma lee starts to get very excited! Of course she wants everything. I tell her she can select 3 toys to take home with us today. She choose wisely. The first toy she notices is the Cinderella MagiClip Castle, she's been wanting something like this for a while and is very excited to added it to our shopping cart.

She also loved the Cinderella Castle, perfect for taking her dolls for a little stroll around the house. We had to add the Disney Princess Little People Castle to our Little People Collection at home. Emma lee and Maddox love their little people toys. We bought Emma lee her first Little People set over 3 years ago and she still plays with them today so we knew that the Disney Princess Little People were coming home with us! I honestly didn't know who was excited more, her or me.... probably me.

As we start to head to the check out registers Emma lee turns to me as says "Mom, what do you mean I only get 3 toys?". When we got home later that evening, I grabbed a large trash bag and made her fill it up with toys that she no longer played with so that we could donate them. We will also be donating a few new items from a large prize pack we won at an event. She didn't seem to mind the idea of giving away her toys that she no longer plays with to kid's that don't have much.

It was a great day and we had a lot of fun shopping together for Disney Princess toy's.
