On October 26th, Microsoft launched an estimated 34 Holiday pop-up stores around the country and one of those stores opened in San Antonio, located in the NorthStar Mall. With the opening of the Holiday store also came the launch of Windows 8 and Surface. I'm sure you're asking, What's a Surface? Well it's a Microsoft built tablet/PC of course! It's a tablet and computer combined into a very sleek and portable device.
Surface with Windows RT will be available in three different options, a 32GB version priced at US$499, a 32GB version bundled with a black Touch Cover priced at US$599, and a 64GB version bundled with a black Touch Cover priced at US$699.
I had the chance to try out the new Surface myself. I was very impressed with the features and functionality. It had many apps to select from like all other tablets on the market but Surface with Windows RT comes with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 RT Preview, which includes Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote.
The Surface can be used as a touch screen or with a flip down keyboard and mouse. Comes with a full-size USB 2.0 port , microSDXC card slot, headset jack, HD video out port and cover port. Other features include built in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 technology, two microphones, stereo speakers and two HD cameras, front- and rear-facing. You also have the option to select from 5 touch cover colors to help express your style.
