Spring not only bring April showers and May flowers, but for some of use it also brings irritable allergies and that dreaded "Allergy Face" look. Do you know what I'm talking about? Watery eyes. puffy face and red nose. I know all about it. I'm currently recovering from #ALLERGYFACE at the moment, I've had it all week long. Not only do I not feel well but you can completely see it on my face, not flattering at all.

I'm new to suffering from Allergies. I moved to San Antonio about 10 years ago and like many others new to the area, I never suffered from seasonal allergies until moving to central Texas. Unlike other members of my family who started suffering shortly after moving here, I started suffering from allergies when I was pregnant with my first almost 6 years ago and every year since then it has gotten worse and more frequent.

The makers of ZYRTEC have partnered with beauty and fashion expert, Carmen Ordoñez from VivaFashionBlog.com, to help women combat “ALLERGY FACE” –the beauty challenges like a puffy face, watery eyes and a red nose that are associated with typical allergy symptoms. According to a recent survey by the makers of ZYRTEC, 96 percent of women suffering from allergies experience ALLERGY FACE

In an effort to help women look their best despite their allergies, the makers of #ZYRTEC have released video one of a three-part, bilingual video series on YouTube.com/Zyrtec, in which Carmen shares her personal beauty tips to take on ALLERGY FACE beauty challenges.

Carmen introduces her tips to help disguise a red nose, a puffy face and watery eyes. Her tips include:
How to Disguise a Red Nose: Use a foundation or bronzer with a dewy or shimmery finish instead of a matte finish, which will only highlight dryness.
How to Contour a Puffy Face: Using an angle brush, apply a bronzer with brown undertones parallel to your jawline to help contour your face. Make sure it’s only one or two shades darker than your natural skin tone as you don’t want to overdo it.
How to Distract from Watery Eyes: Dab a white or silver shimmery eye shadow in the inner corner of your eyes.

Here are some of my tips for tackling #ALLERGYFACE
  • I personally do recommend taking ZYRTEC as directed, it works for me and don't stop taking it the moment you feel better because your symptoms can quickly come back if the air is not clear of what you may be allergic to.
  • Use a cold press or cold towel to put on your face to reduce puffiness, wear waterproof mascara to prevent your mascara from running down you face and many cosmetic brands sell "Eye Brightening" eyeshadows and tools.
  • I've also heard that it's best to stay clear from diary products because they can weaken your immune system and make your symptoms worse.
  • Don't forget to eat and take your vitamins so that your body can fight off those allergies.
