8 Tips for Cough & Cold Season

{This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Latina Mom Bloggers and Walgreens. However, all opinions expressed are my own.}

Fall has just begun and the cooler weather hasn't even arrived here in San Antonio, Texas and so far we've all been sick in the last 3 weeks. Emma Lee had a strep throat infection shortly after Autumn officially began and of course, I caught it too!

I felt absolutely horrible the other week, I could barely get out of bed. My throat hurt, I was coughing and my entire body ached. As a mom, I can't be sick. Just because I'm sick life doesn't stop, laundry still needs to be done, everyone still needs to eat, deadlines still come and go and I still need to get my daughter ready for school in the mornings.

I needed to feel better quick so I headed to my local Walgreens and picked up a few cough and cold needs to help me feel better soon.

I picked up some tissues, cough drops and DayQuil Severe Cold & Flu Pack.

Hopefully these tips can help you avoid a cough and cold this season.

8 Tips for Cough & Cold Season:
  1. You can avoid getting sick this season by washing your hands often and carry around some hand sanitizer to avoid catching those illness germs.
  2. If you catch a cough or cold; rest up, take over the counter medications to help you feel better. A warm bowl of soup always helps!
  3. Take a multivitamin. Vitamins will help you fight off infections quicker.
  4. Use a humidifier. A humidifier can help soothe a sore throat and nose.
  5. Avoid those who are showing signs of a cough & cold, sneezing, runny nose & watery eyes are all signs of a cold.
  6. Gargle mouth wash or salt water to soothe a sore throat. Swallowing 2 tablespoons of Honey has been known to soothe a sore throat because the Honey helps kill the infection.
  7. Avoid dairy. Diary adds to the mucous production.
  8. Drink lots of water to keep you hydrated
