Real Holidays by Real Families #JCPenneyLatino #RealHolidays {$50 Gift Card Giveaway}

{This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Latina Mom Bloggers and JCPenney. However, all opinions expressed are my own}

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and many of us have our favorite holiday family traditions that we love to participate in. Everyone's traditions vary from family to family but we all find great joy in passing those traditions to our children. JCPenney wants to share the spirit of the Holidays – the real spirit that lives in Latino homes in the US, a celebration of real-life Holiday traditions. JCPenney will be the first brand that celebrates what a REAL holiday tradition is like for Latinos through stories by Latino children and their families.

I grew up in a multicultural home and I'm currently raising bi-racial children in a multicultural environment. Growing up we would often split holidays with both sides of my family, part of my Thanksgiving was spent with my mothers side of the family were we had many Latino inspired traditions and the other half of my holiday was spent with my step-fathers side of the family were traditions were a little more "American". For Thanksgiving my Nana would make tamales for our Thanksgiving feast and it became a family tradition, one that we still celebrate even though my grandmother lives on the west coast. Last year for Thanksgiving my grandmother visited from California to spend the holiday with us and she was able to share our long traditions with another generation of her family, my children.

Through the voice of real people and families JCPenney has chosen real choir singer, boys and girls, to be part of the JCPenney choir and help tell the stories of their multicultural families and how they experience holidays in the US.
