Christmas Traditions #JCPenneyLatino

{This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Latina Mom Bloggers and JCPenney. However, all opinions expressed are my own.}

Like most Hispanic families, growing up we celebrated our Christmas on Christmas Eve also known as Nochebuena. Growing we had to split our holiday time between families, as kid's it was awesome, we had more than just one Christmas to open our gifts. Christmas Eve was always the day I would look most forward to as the holiday season began, it by far was my favorite. We would spend Christmas Eve with my mother's side of the family so I got to spend time with my grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins who I was most close too. Now that we live in a different state from all of our family back home in California, we still celebrate on Christmas Eve, it's just what we are use to. We get together to have what many would think is an "nontraditional" dinner which can be anything from tamales, brisket to a traditional chicken roast feast. After dinner we sit around the Christmas Tree and open our gifts and in the morning we got to see what Santa brought us!

JCPenney knows that real holidays are celebrated by real families and that there is no cookie-cutter type family with cookie-cutter type of traditions. JCPenney wants to share the spirit of Christmas – the real spirit that lives in Latino homes in the US, a celebration of real-life Holiday traditions. They help us all enjoy and celebrate the holidays are we choose to. Our traditions and lives can make us very busy doing the holiday season and we can count on them to provide us with what we need from retailers, great prices and convenient location and holiday hours, maybe you need to make a last minute run to the store for a last-minute gift.

Last month JCPenney offered a $50 gift card to one of my readers to help them celebrate the holidays this year. The winner of that gift card was Sherrie and I hope she enjoys her gift from JCPenney this season.

Here is a video about Camila and her story about how she celebrates Christmas Eve as a Hispanic tradition in her family. Watch the video and share your Christmas tradition with JCPenney.
