Potty training our children isn't something most parents look forward to. For some it can be a very simple process and for others it can be a long journey. Here are a few of my potty training tips and tricks for when it's time to #SayAdiosToDiapers!

9 Potty Training Tips and Tricks
  1. Timing. Wait until your child shows signs of being ready, such as showing an interest in the bathroom, telling you when she has to go, or wanting to be changed promptly after pooping. It isn't a race, they'll be potty trained one day.
  2. Make it known. Let all those around you know that you're potty training, this includes; day care staff, siblings, grandparents or anyone that may be around the child often. They will also know to look for signs that indicate your child needs to use the restroom.
  3. Consistency. It's important that you remain consistent once you begin the potty training process.Don't switch back to diapers because it may confuse your child.
  4. Fun potty seat. Let's make this a fun experience. Select a potty seat with your child's favorite characters on it.
  5. Training Pants. Use Pull-ups to help your child learn how to use underwear and to symbolize that you guys are leaving diapers behind and moving onto the next step.
  6. Potty rewards. A little special treat for when they have successfully used the toilet. Marshmallows, M&M's, or stickers are great "Potty Rewards"
  7. Frequency. Place your child on the toilet seat every 15-20 minutes or when you think they may need to go to the bathroom.
  8. Get excited. Praise them for their efforts with positive reinforcement, love, affection. This will help them get excited about the progress they are making.
  9. Reading material. You and your child may be seating in the bathroom for several minutes at a time in the beginning, a great time for story time and can help them relax.

Pull-Ups Training Pants are proven to deliver more potty training success than diapers. Consistently using Pull Ups Training Pants throughout the entire potty training process, instead of switching back to diapers, will reduce toddler confusion and lead to more success.
