Dear Teachers, You're #doingood

{This post is sponsored by Minute MaidTM. All opinions are my own}

Teachers are extremely important to our society. They assist us in raising and educating our children who will one day be adults in the “real world.” I believe teachers don't often get the recognition they deserve. It’s important that teachers remember how amazing their selfless profession is. Self-motivation only goes so far. Teaching is not a 9-5 job, it’s a lifestyle that they have dedicated themselves to. Teaching is rewarding but sometimes it can be thankless and draining. That’s why I think it’s very important to remind teachers that they are making a difference.

A great friend of mine is a teacher, and a recent conversation with her gave me a better understanding of the struggles that can come with being an educator. Teachers don't just work 9 months out of the year, when they aren't “working” inside of a classroom they are brainstorming new classroom ideas, training, buying things they need for their students. They work tirelessly to create meaningful relationships with their students in order to make them feel cared for while they learn their core subjects. Many teachers work before the sun comes up and many stay until the sun sets.

No gesture is too small or too big to help make a teacher feel appreciated. Anything from a notecard with a few sentences to school supplies for their classroom can go a long way. This summer season, Minute Maid's #doingood campaign inspired me to remind my good friend that not only is she a great wife, mother, and friend but also an inspiring teacher and important member of our community.
The new school year is approaching and I have put together a back-to-school care package to remind my friend that she’s #doingood and help with her classroom needs.

Check out Minute Maid’s latest video to see how one college student made a Reverse Care Package of her own:
